The packages - customisation MQ

I got Rt'ed today on the #ITF11 hashtag:

RT @: @ @ There is no one-size-fits-all. Pure packages is wrong, as is pure customisation >YES

and that's basically all I have to say about it - not

Empire Avenue p0wns you

There's been a bit of buzz about Empire Avenue these days.Quite a few of my Twitter friends have signed up for it, one of who is Bernd Nurnberger. I had a conversation with him after he sent me an invite to join Empire Avenue.
I had my doubts about Empire Avenue, especially finding the "what's in it for me" - so I tried their About page:

Empire Avenue is the Social Media Exchange, where you can buy and sell shares in any social media profile, meet new people, unlock Achievement badges, and earn boatloads of virtual cash by being active and social online! Buy shares in your friends, your followers, people with similar interests, brands you love, celebrities – anyone! All using a virtual currency and all for free!

Basically, that satisfied my curiosity - after going for the bucket

Resurrection. What are you waiting for?

My parents raised me a Roman Catholic. Like them, I got indoctrinated with their belief since birth, and adopted that as a consequence. I even became an altar boy at age 9, and managed to stay that for 3 years

By the time I was expected to take Holy Communion, I had lost all faith but just went along as to not let my parents down - so I played that part

Why did I lose faith under these ideal circumstances? Because of all the conflicting messages. God created us after his own image, meaning that we are perfect. Yet, Adam and Eve ignored his order and got expelled from the Garden of Eden, causing all of us to be sinners from birth. Yet, Christ died for all our sins, so that should have made us back to square one, right?
Apparently, not

Implementing Social: don't use the C-word

The C-word is being used quite frequently these days. I have had quite a few dialogues and discussions about it, and it almost looks like the C-word is the new black - or white, in this case

To me, it shows that Social is hitting mainstream and getting implemented here and there. Maybe the evangelists are now slowly turning into, or supported by, priests and monks to support phase number two and three of the Movement - and hitting a brick wall

Big Twother is watching you

...so said Tamsen McMahon on April 7th.
Funny as it is, there's a typo in the tweet - did or can you spot it? I did, and couldn't resist:

It's "its" and not "it's" > RT @: (...) your impression of a company and it's representatives. To wit, typos on presentation slides

Caught in the act in public there of pointing the finger to others and immediately getting a finger pointed back, how would the reaction be? Denial, anger, cover-up, fun, laughter?

The Schmarketing MQ

With the above picture hardly legible on purpose, let me tell you a small story. Three months ago I was contacted by Derek Singleton with a question about a poll on his company site. I liked the company, liked the site, liked the poll, so wrote a small post about it
This week, Hunter Richards had the audacity to contact me, same company, same site, different post. One thing is for sure: the next time I'm going to make a Whatever Magic Quadrant, I'm going to hire him as his one looks like the real kind

Wirearchy - preferred by entrepreneurs

A good while ago Jon Husband introduced me to the concept of Wirearchy. With the benefit of hindsight,

Wirearchy is an (emerging) organizing principle for this new environment in which interconnected networks of people carry out the full range of human activities, ....   commerce, work, research, education, gossip, news

was a well-chosen description of it, with formal definition:

a dynamic two-way flow of power and authority based on information, knowledge, trust and credibility, enabled by interconnected people and technology

How Google's Android language architecture is dead wrong

I love my HTC Desire. I held on to my Sony Ericsson P800 for 5 years, turning from an early adopter into a laggard, sending mobile text-only tweets via WAP up until the early Summer of 2010 - that started to feel awkward at some point

So in August I entered the "always on" world, with a 3.6 mbps Internet connection, the endless Market where there are more apps than uses for them, and that super-shiny screen

But there's one big but: the language architecture
